In July 2002, I was 106.5 kg and diagnosed as morbidly obese—that’s the medical term for someone who’s so obese that they are likely to die from it.
After trying everything and getting nowhere, I decided I needed to take control of my life—and weight—not just for then, but forever.
I did it by throwing out all the weight loss and diet industry B.S. and broke almost every so called ‘rule’ they have filled us with over the years.
I went about things totally different. I got adventurous and tried things ‘they’ tell us never to do (like not having a goal weight, not announcing to the world that I was going to lose weight, forgetting about portion control and everything in moderation, using food as a reward – if I rewarded myself at all – and still emotionally eating!!!)
The result was I lost 45 kg (99 lbs) in 33 weeks - nearly 1.5 kg (over 3 lbs) per week! I kept that weight off for five years before losing another 8.5 kg (18 lbs) after that.
...And I’ve kept it off since (more than 10 years total).
