SuperfoodSalads: An Easy Weight Loss Solution

Superfoods are packed full of goodies such as antioxidants, and they’re a great way to help with losing weight and weight control. How to lose weight and keep it off is all about changing your habits, and that includes what you eat – but it doesn’t mean you have to follow any diet plans. Try these great superfood salads and you’ll see and feel a difference in no time!

Good-for-you Garlic Seaweed Salad

Ingredients:

  • 4 sheets of dried seaweed
  • 1 cup water
  • 4 small cloves garlic, minced
  • ¼ cup parsley, chopped
  • ¼ cup of sesame oil
  • Pinch of sugar
  • Salt and white pepper to taste

 

To prepare:

1.Tear seaweed into thin strips, and brush the strips with water.

2.Combine the minced garlic, parsley, sesame oil and sugar in a container. Add the seaweed and allow to marinade.

3.Serve with the salt and white pepper to taste.

(Serves 2)

 

Delicious Detox Salad

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups broccoli florets, chopped
  • 1 cup cauliflower florets, chopped
  • 1 large carrot, peeled, shopped
  • 1 tbsp. raw ginger, minced
  • 1 tsp. lemon zest
  • ¼ cup fresh squeezed orange juice with pulp
  • Pinch of cayenne pepper
  • ¼ cup raisins
  • Tbsp. olive oil

 

To prepare:

1.Combine broccoli, cauliflower, carrot and ginger in pan or wok with the olive oil. Toss until softened but still crunchy.

2.Remove from heat and place in a large bowl.

3.Add remaining ingredients in a separate bowl and stir until combined. Drizzle over the salad.

(Serves 2)

Super Sprout Salad

  • 2 cups sprouts, washed
  • ½ cup spring onions, chopped
  • 1 carrot, peeled and diced
  • ¼ cup sunflower seeds
  • 1 cup snow peas, ends removed
  • ¼ cup fresh mint, chopped
  • Lemon juice and salt to taste

 

To prepare:

1.Combine ingredients, drizzling with the lemon juice and salt.

(Serves 1)
